About Us

The RM equestrian centre was founded in 2022 as a not-for-profit club just south of Toowoomba on the Darling Downs. The club’s aim is to provide a safe, friendly, and supportive club for riders of different equestrian sports.

The venue is situated on grounds previously known as the QLD Polo Club, initially developed by the late RM Williams. For many years polo was regularly played on the grounds with the fabulous club house hosting many parties and events. The grounds, now run under the name of Fanny’s Fields, are owned by Mike and Jo Williams and leased to RM equestrian centre.

The RM equestrian centre club is affiliated with Equestrian Australia (EA) and run in accordance with EA rules. Anyone who wishes to ride on the grounds must be a club member (even if it’s just to ride around following your kids classes). Only those members who wish to compete officially need to also hold current EA membership.

The club has grown substantially in the time since its inception from a bare paddock full of weeds to a full length cross country course, with a showjumping arena and dressage areas. Our cross country course can provide competitive events from 50 cm to 1.05m with more land being developed to extend the course every month. The club hosts a number of official CNN one day events as well as unofficial fun express events to suit the riding levels of all members and we are looking to add other sports and opportunities during 2023.

The club is focused on helping riders to gain confidence in a supportive and fun environment. Whilst we’d love all members to one day participate in our competitions, we understand that everyone has to start their riding journey at the beginning and that for some, just being out with everyone is enough. To this end, the club provides regular clinics, training days and coaching sessions with local and interstate coaches to help improve showjumping, dressage and cross country riding skills (see our clinics and events page).

The club’s motto is..”Please be Kind”, and we welcome riders of all levels and experience. We also welcome family and friends who may not ride but who want to be part of a “horsey” community and there are always ways for volunteers to get involved and to help out, just get in touch and we’ll tell you how.
